Alexandra Wilson,Woman Killed in Reported Accidental Shooting in Decatur Identified

DECATUR, Ill. — Authorities have released the name of a young woman who died following a reported accidental shooting on Saturday evening in Decatur.

The Decatur Police Department responded to a 911 call just after 5:27 p.m. on February 14 at a residence in the 1700 block of North Summit Avenue. The caller, identified as 25-year-old Christian D. Luthy, reported he had accidentally shot a woman inside the home.

Upon arrival, officers found a 26-year-old female victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The Macon County Coroner’s Office has identified her as Alexandra A. Wilson, 26.

Luthy remained at the scene and was taken to police headquarters for questioning. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division processed the scene and conducted interviews as part of an ongoing investigation.

Following the initial investigation, Christian D. Luthy was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter. He was booked into the Macon County Jail.
