Brian Spiers Obituary,Archbishop Riordan High School Mourns Brian Spiers
The Riordan family mourns the loss of Brian Spiers ‘75, who passed away yesterday. Brian was many things to this school: alumnus, Board Chair, Blessed Chaminade Award recipient, and dedicated advocate. But to many of us, he was simply a loyal friend whose steady presence helped guide us through some of the most important moments in our history.
A WCAL Soccer Champion at Riordan, Brian carried that same leadership into building his own construction company and shaping the campus you see today. His legacy is etched in stone and spirit. From the pivotal transition to coeducation, to the 2019 field project, to the Debi and Brian Spiers Academic Wing, his fingerprints and faith in our mission are everywhere.

What I’ll remember most is Brian’s humility and his rollicking sense of humor. He never sought recognition. He simply showed up, spoke honestly (sometimes bluntly), and did what needed to be done for the good of the school. His devotion was quiet, profound, and unwavering.
Please keep Brian, his wife Debi, their children Erin, Sean, and Ryan, son-in-law Joey Armenta, and granddaughters Sophie and Lucy in your prayers.
Brian leaves behind a school that is stronger and more united because of his life. He built not just buildings, but community. He will always be a Crusader.
