High Springs Police Department Mourns the Loss of Former Officer Carl Hodson
The High Springs Police Department is deeply saddened to announce the passing of former Officer Carl Hodson. His loss is felt profoundly by our department and the entire community he served with such dedication.
Officer Hodson’s law enforcement career was defined by an unwavering commitment to service. Beginning with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, he was known for his positive influence on department culture. He brought that same dedication to High Springs, where he served as a full-time officer in the School Resource Unit, building trust with our youth. Even after transitioning, his desire to give back remained strong through his service in the reserves, proving himself an invaluable asset to every team he joined.
Carl will be remembered for his steadfast professionalism, his calm and steady presence, and the genuine heart he poured into protecting others. He was a mentor, a guardian, and a respected colleague whose legacy is etched in the countless lives he positively influenced.
