Auxiliarist Edmund Donovan Obituary,Death, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Member Has Passed Away

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend and mentor, Auxiliarist Edmund “Ed” Donovan, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. For over 43 years, Ed dedicated himself to the mission of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, leaving an indelible mark on our organization and all who served alongside him.

Ed’s passion for service was exemplified in his most recent role as FSO-MS and Telecommunications, where his expertise and commitment ensured seamless operations and communications. More than his official duties, however, it was his role as a mentor that truly defined his legacy. Ed consistently inspired those around him with his wisdom, patience, and unwavering dedication to the Auxiliary’s core values of fellowship, knowledge, and service. He was a cornerstone of our community.

The heartfelt sympathy of the entire District is extended to his family, friends, and shipmates during this time of immense loss. To honor his memory and enduring spirit, Ed’s name will be added to the Division and District “IN MEMORIAM” page. There, he will join the honored list of fellow Shipmates who have “crossed the Bar,” ensuring they are forever remembered for their contributions and camaraderie.

We have lost a pillar of our community. May Auxiliarist Edmund Donovan rest in eternal peace, and may fair winds and following seas guide him on his final voyage.
