It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Marie Drake of St. John’s, at the age of 27. Surrounded by her loving family, Emily passed peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Emily was a portrait of love, seen uniquely by all who knew her. To her parents, Derrick and Sandra, she was their determined and caring daughter. To her brother, Derrick, and sister-in-law, Lindsay Ann, she was a constant source of laughter and honesty. To her many friends, she was the sweet, dependable confidante. And to her fiancé, Jacob, she was simply everything—his soulmate and the source of a profound, irreplaceable love.
Despite her short time, Emily lived with remarkable drive and joy. A talented and savvy aesthetician, she managed Goldie Beauty Bar and was preparing to launch the Elevate Movement Club. She adored traveling the world with Jacob, from Caribbean retreats to a surprise engagement in London, creating cherished memories.
Emily is predeceased by her grandparents and several loved ones. She is lovingly remembered by her fiancé Jacob, her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Jacob’s family, her dogs Henry and Sid, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joannie Neveu and all healthcare staff for their dedicated care.
Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Teresa’s Church on Thursday, February 19th. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for research.
Emily’s bright light burns on in memory, a testament to a life lived fully and loved deeply.
