The Utah Xtreme Cheer community in West Jordan is issuing an urgent plea for public assistance in locating a missing athlete and her mother, who vanished while traveling for a competition in Las Vegas.

In a somber social media post, the organization revealed that one of their athletes and her mother failed to arrive for their scheduled event and have become unreachable. “This is not the post we ever wanted to make, but we need the cheer community’s help,” the statement read. “At this point, we are extremely worried. Police have been contacted.”

The missing pair have been identified as Tawnia McGeehan and her daughter, Addi Smith. They were last seen on the evening of February 14th, around 8 p.m., at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Their sudden and unexplained disappearance has sparked deep concern among teammates, coaches, and family friends.

The cheer team is urging anyone with any information—no matter how small it may seem—to come forward immediately. They ask the public to call or text a dedicated tip line at 385-985-7249 and to share their announcement widely to broaden the search.

Authorities have been notified, and anyone with knowledge of Tawnia and Addi’s whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact local law enforcement directly. The tight-knit cheer community and the families involved hold onto hope for their safe and swift return.
